What Is Lone Eagle?
“Lone Eagle” is a program of the Honor Flight Network that serves our Veterans from around the United States serving from World War II through the Vietnam Era that do not live near any of our 138 “Hubs” around the country.
The Lone Eagle program fills the geographical gaps by flying those Veterans from their hometowns to Washington D.C. to be honored at their memorials.
TLC Program
“Their Last Chance” or TLC serves is a niche segment of our Lone Eagle program that serves our terimally ill Veterans that have less than a year to live. The TLC program serves honorably discharged Veterans from ALL eras giving them the highest priority of travel opportunities on an upcoming Honor Flight.

Find A Guardian
Every Veteran travels with a guardian who is 18+ years or older. It can be a child, grandchild or friend in good health. Don't have one? We have trained volunteers ready to assist you.
Wait For Your Call
Veterans are scheduled based on when they served. WWII, Korea, Vietnam and times in between. Terminally ill Veterans are given top priority.

How Lone Eagle Works
If you (The Veteran) or the Veteran you are inquiring about live more than 120 miles from any of our Honor Flight Hubs, you may travel with Lone Eagle. Check For a Hub near you first.
Once we receive your application, you go into our waitlist. We give priority to Word War II, Korea, Vietnam Veterans in the order in which they served. Terminally Ill Veterans recieve our top priority and will always go on the next available trip.
About Guardians
Every Veteran travels with a companion we call a “Guardian”. They are not a legal guardian, but someone who is responsible for their safety and well-being during the trip. Guardians should be physically able to care for the Veteran under any circumstance, including pushing them in a wheelchair over long distances if necessary.
The guardian and Veteran will share a hotel room with two double beds for both nights. Our Veterans will always travel for free. Our guardians are asked to make a $600 donation to help cover a portion of their participation in the trip to help cover travel, food and lodging.
